Dear Brandon,
So I have been watching your social media posts the last few weeks and I totally get the frustration that comes with a major political loss. However, watching you saying things like “voting is pointless” and seeing you and other edge towards the implication that revolution (even violent revolution) is the solution at this point is the reason I am writing you.
You know that I have been a vocal supporter of President Trump and his agenda. The radical left will destroy this country if they fully are able to implement their vision. However, I think we need to have an accurate picture of where we are at. You seem to think the systems of this country are so rigged against us that there is no chance of ever winning again. The left is taking over.
So what are our options? Well, this is where things get scary. If you can’t vote to change things, the only option left is force. But let’s take a step back before going down that road.
You believe that the election was stolen and that all future elections will be stolen too. How sure are you? Are you so sure you are willing to kill people who disagree, because that is where this leads. When you can’t vote to change things force is essentially the only option that is left (well, unless you plan to just surrender which I know is not in your character). This is not a joke or hyperbole.
What if you are wrong? What if Trump lost because Covid drove everyone mad and the media successfully blamed Trump for it. What if large numbers of suburban women were simply turned off by him and voted for Biden? What if all the judges (including ones appointed by Trump) just did not see evidence sufficient to overturn the election. What if some of the information you have is incomplete or out of context or just not true. Have you seen both sides of the argument on every major voter fraud claim? Be honest, do you have a specific day time and place you can point to where conclusive voter fraud took place that was sufficient to overturn the election? Are people innocent until PROVEN guilty?
Stealing an election has never happened in American history because it’s extremely hard to do because voting is decentralized and there are many many audit processes in place. Are you familiar with all these processes in detail? Perhaps you are right and voting is forever worthless, but are you 110% sure? Are you willing to wait and see? Are you willing to keep trying to work within the system for at least another 4 years or do you want to go down the road that leads to force and violence? A path that normally ruins lives and societies forever. You better be sure, because if you are not you will be the murderer in this equation.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not some pushover who does not believe in violent insurrection against abject tyranny, but let’s consider the words of Jefferson:
PRUDENCE, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. - The Declaration of Independence
We are not living in absolute despotism. We just are not at that point.
Remember that just 4 years ago Donald Trump was elected with all the establishment against him and in the positions of power. Why did your vote count then? And why were republicans able to make such big gains and leftists suffer such big defeats in the house in the 2020 election if the game was totally rigged? I think it’s worth trying again to work within the system. The stakes of what you are talking about are so high and you have no clear plan for what your revolution would look like or what it’s plan is or what it would accomplish. We must choose a path forward that is most likely to work, and these notions of jumping outside the system to overthrow it is just are not a realistic or moral path at this time.
And what about Trump? Trump was the product of a deeper movement and it’s that movement that matters ultimately. He is not the only patriot in this country and frankly I think we can find someone with all the fight of a Donald Trump but without a past of a billionaire playboy bragging about grabbing pussy behind his pregnant wife’s back. It will take some work but we can find someone. What is it we really love about Trump? I think it boils down to his boldness and willingness to put America first in an era of leftists and RINOS who don’t. This movement is bigger than him. He played his part and hopefully he will keep the movement going and pass his torch to a new set of leaders who like him will fight unapologetically against socialism and American decline.
So where do we go from here? There is good news! Trump got the 2nd most votes in American history. We have 70M+ pissed off people who believe in America 1st. The democrats have people who voted against trump. Essentially nobody voted for Biden. Radicals like Bernie could not even win the democrat support. If the America 1st movement can hold together and unite in fighting the radicals through political action we can win again if we unite. That is unless the system is entirely rigged against us, but now is not the time to stake our bet on that.
So what’s it going to be? What are our options? Sitting around whining does nothing. The bigger a movement is the harder it is to hide and rig things against it and perhaps it’s not as completely rigged as you may think. Surrender is cowardice and it’s not the time for violent revolution. It’s time to set aside our frustrations and bring the America 1st movement together again. It’s the only sensible path forward, it’s the only path in front of us that has a chance of avoiding ripping our nation apart with blood in the streets. If the game really is rigged permanently it will become more clear with time and more people will be on your side. Don’t rush into paths you can’t turn back from with consequences that usually lead to abject misery for generations.
As Christians we should remember that violence is our absolute last resort. Jesus lived in a completely oppressive dictatorship where everything was rigged against them yet he told his followers not to raise the sword against the Romans. Now is the time for us to work to change hearts and minds and reach those who we can through persuasion, love and action. Now is our time to organize is a movement based on love for the principles of our founding and show the world that love for country and each other.
It’s ok to be mad, disappointed and frustrated, give these emotions their space to be felt. But then let’s come together and get busy putting together the next coalition of friends and countrymen who believe in putting America 1st.
Keep hope, keep faith. The fight goes on. Let us keep our wits.
